Mobile advertising is growing rapidly and it is giving many positive results for the marketer. In present days almost all the people are having mobile phones. Many reports show and predict that the amount of spending on mobile advertising will increase to billions of dollars in the future. Because the mobile advertisement reaches the target customers easily and it is a more cost effective tool.
According to a eMarketer report, U.S. Mobile ad spending has reached nearly 1.7 billion dollars in 2008, with the increased percentage of 89 from 878 million dollars in 2007, and the study predicted that it will reach to 6.5 billion dollars in 2012.
According to a new report from eMarketer, US mobile ad spending reached to 743.1 million dollars in 2010, it will be expected to reach 1.1 billion dollars in 2011, it will reach to 2.5 billion dollars by the 2014. This growth is mainly coming due to the increase in sales of smart phones, as the mobile users are using their mobile for various services like, to find the nearest retail store, discount offers, for the research purposes and for price comparison. This estimates has been raised due to the Google’s acquisition of Ad Mob and Apples introduction of the iAd, as well as mobile ad reaching the mainstream of digital advertising.
According to the mobile ad firm Smaato, US mobile ad spending will grow from 797.6 million dollars in 2010, to 5.04 billion dollars by 2015. The firm has said that, in US there are around 300 million mobile users now, out of which nearly 33.3% users, use their mobile phone to browse.
Spending on mobile advertising in the U.K is doubled than the year 2010, it is reaching around $ 135 million worth, according to the IAB U.K. annual mobile ad report. IAB attributed this increase to the continuous rise in the smart phone users and to the change of mobile user behavior. According to the data from GSM association, the spending on mobile advertising showed 45% increase than the previous year 2010.
