fairy housesVitamin C is one of the important nutrients that ensures growth and development. It is essential for healing wounds, scar tissues, repairs and maintains cartilage, bones and teeth. The vitamin is also an antioxidant avoiding cell damage caused by free radicals. So, it helps in reducing aging, risk of heart diseases, cancer, and so on. However, vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that dissolves in water – leftover amounts of the vitamin leave the body through urine. So, it is necessary to maintain its continuous supply in the diet. Lack of appropriate levels of the vitamin may give rise to various diseased conditions. So, foods rich in vitamin C should be taken daily. Here are some plant sources of vitamin C.

Vitamin C is highly present in fruits and vegetables. Fruits such as oranges, strawberries, pineapple, guava, grapes, tomatoes, avocados, blueberries, grapefruit, watermelon, mango, papaya fruit, clementine, and kiwi fruits contain vitamin C. The vitamin is abundantly found in citrus fruits. It is even present in animal foods such as meat, milk, and liver.

Having these foods, hence, helps one avoid suffering from vitamin C deficiencies. It also ensures perfect health.
