Why is Tooth Extraction Done in a Dentistry?

If a tooth is lost, decayed, broken or damaged due to an injury, there is a necessity of extracting the tooth by the dentist. Sometimes in the treatment of braces are also needed for extraction of teeth. But this tooth extraction should be removed without pain and a minimum trauma to the surrounding tissues should be done so that it should not be harmful to the tooth root. Simple tooth extraction is done by a general dentist and surgical tooth extraction is done by the oral surgeon. Tooth extraction procedure removes the infected tooth from the oral cavity and will prevent the spread of infection or damage to the tooth.
The main reasons for tooth extraction is:

  • To remove extra teeth which blocks other teeth from coming in
  • People who are taking treatment for braces and providing space to the dentures for adjusting between the teeth
  • People who take cancer drugs infect their teeth and these drugs weaken their immune system. Infected teeth need to be extracted
  • People who receives organs from others have high risk of infection
