Air Purifiers For Controlling Allergies

Allergies and asthma are a major cause of illness and disability. With increase in inhaling of pollutants by the patients, the infections also tend to increase.

Some common types of allergies include:

  • Airborne Pollen Allergies – These allergies are caused by pollutants released by trees, grass, plants and flowers.
Dust Mite Allergies – Microscopic bugs that live in the carpets, furniture, bed linens, mattresses and box springs causes dust mite allergies.
  • Pet Allergies – These allergies are caused by animal dander, old skin scales, etc.
  • Mold Allergies – Mold allergies are caused by mold, mildew and fungi.
  • Food Allergies – allergies and asthma symptoms triggered by eating something which is contaminated.

So as to eliminate allergies, clean the house regularly and once it is cleaned, switch on the air purifier so that it removes the air borne particles in the surroundings. Many allergy sufferers experience breathing problems in the middle of the night, this is because, the human respiratory system relaxes during sleep. Majority of allergy doctors recommend HEPA (High Energy Particulate Arresting) air purifiers which removes the pollens and stuff flying around in the air. HEPA purifiers removes particles sized up to 0.03 microns. Though other purifiers exist in the market, using of the HEPA purifier is still the best way to get rid of the vast majority of pollutants and toxins present in the air.

It is recommended to chose the purifiers which have activated carbons as they adsorb the volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), paint fumes, formaldehyde, ozone etc. It is advised to install the air purifier in the place where the family members spend lots of time so that the allergies can be avoided.
