Effects of Steroid on Behavior

Many people were addicted to steroids. There was an evidence as they continued to take steroids though there were negative effects on social relations and physical problems and also irritability. They spend large amount of money and time to obtain steroids and they experience withdrawal symptoms like fatigue, mood swings, loss of appetite, restlessness, reduced sex drive, insomnia, and urge to take more steroids, increase in desire. Depression is the most dangerous symptom of withdrawal because sometimes it causes suicide attempts.

Behavior of user of steroid:
When steroids are used in high doses, then there is increase in aggression and irritability. Users commit aggressive acts like armed robbery or physical fighting, vandalism, theft or burglary. The mood and behavioral changes were observed during anabolic-androgenic steroid abuse may result from secondary hormonal changes.

Other behavioral effects like increased energy, euphoria, sexual arousal, destructibility, mood swings, confusion and forgetfulness. If persons take high dose of steroids then it disrupts their ability to function in their jobs or in society.

Aggression or adverse behavior results by the administration of steroids.
