Many types of glow sticks are used for parties and celebration purposes. They also have application in many other areas. However, they play a great role in parties and recreations.
Many glow products can be used in different ways. Glow sticks can also be termed as light sticks. The glow sticks are enclosed tubes of six inches long. Two chemicals are present in the tube which are responsible for the chemiluminescence reaction that gives light. A fluorescent dye called Cyalume is also added in the plastic tube. This helps in giving color to the light stick when activated. Many types of glow stick products such as glow necklaces, bracelets, and tubes are available. They can be strung together for forming light ropes. Scarlet, blue, yellow and other colors are available based on the taste of individuals. A lot of creative products are available that make use of glow sticks. Certain toys also use the technology of glow sticks which make them more attractive.
Two different types of glow sticks are available. A bright glow is given by a high-intensity, low duration glow stick. Light from such type of glow stick lasts only for approximately five minutes. The other type is a low-intensity, high duration glow stick. A lower level of light is given by this type of glow stick. However, it lasts up to 24 hours in some cases. It is made to hold the light glow for longer period by arranging in such a way that the chemical reaction occurs at lower temperature. For most of the recreational uses, the low-intensity, high duration glow sticks are used.
Glow stick parties also make use of LED lights. Certain LED lights are used at parties with plastic ice cubes which give splendid exceptional glow. Apart from these LED lights, other types of products such as phosphorescent products are available. They are available in the form of glowing stickers with various shapes and colors. They may also be available even as nail polish. A phosphorescent chemical is charged with energy of sun or light. Such chemicals are coated on the products and help in visibility in darkness.
